Meet Benjamin Gear X, also known as Vex Moth, a sonic maestro based in Lincoln/Omaha, NE. Fusing avant-synth-punk and interdimensional noise, Benjamin’s creations extend into game development and composition, showcasing a love for fringe music and C++.
Proudly defying musical norms, Benjamin’s expressive compositions draw inspiration from icons like Yasunori Mitsuda, Kenichi Tsuchiya, and Mick Gordon. Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Cast Off Form is the brainchild of Joe W., a dynamic force in the city’s thriving sound art scene.
Joe plays a pivotal role as a co-organizer for the No Coast Noise Collective, a community of sound artists and noisicians dedicated to spotlighting and connecting noise makers in the Midwest.
With a focus on field recordings, looping techniques, and the inventive use of unconventional instruments, Joe’s artistry extends beyond the auditory realm. He delves into meditative states of consciousness through visual art, drawing inspiration from Japanese Ensō. This unique blend of visual and sonic elements adds an extra layer of depth to his live performances, creating an immersive experience that transcends traditional boundaries. Cast Off Form invites you to join Joe on a sonic and visual journey that pushes the boundaries of artistic expression.
